Interesting facts about space.

Many surface crusts are made of a material known as lunar regolith. Lunar regolith transforms into translucent forms through a process called agglutination when the regolith is subjected to high heat. In many places, parts of the moon's surface consist of translucent material embedded in the moon's outer crust. These surfaces allow a substantial degree of sunlight to penetrate into the caves. Most of this glass like surface material has been naturally formed, millions of years ago. Amongst the translucent surface areas, there are also many areas of near clear-glass transparency. Due to refraction of the sunlight that penetrates into the caves, massive rainbow like color beams frequently appear in very many places inside the caves. Due to the vastness and the complexity of the spectrum of rainbow colors intermingling with each other, there is a stunningly beautiful visual effect inside the caves. The glow from the moon's outer surface when seen from inside the caves, gives a further dimension of beauty for the visual enjoyment of the people of the moon.

and here is another

A more or less common sense approach is followed by the moon people in their day to day affairs. This helps to keep the harmony and close bonding of the community that they treasure very much. They always act on the principle of carrying out "What needs to be done?" at a particular moment and engage themselves promptly on such tasks rather than wait for someone to give directions. In instances, where guidance is necessary, it is the elders who provide it. Conflicts never arise amongst the elders who are well recognized community leaders living like ordinary people. The leaders respect each other's seniority on the basis of their age or their knowledge on a particular subject.

and finally

Very long ago, when our Solar System was young, Earth's Moon possessed active volcanoes. However, today, the lunar volcanoes are dormant and have not erupted for millions of years.

More information:

A moon is a natural body that orbits a planet, and is held in its orbit by the force of both the host planet's gravity and the gravity of the moon itself. Some planets sport moons; some do not. Most of the moons dwelling in our Solar System are frigid (and sometimes weird) little worlds, made up of ice and rock, that swarm around the outer giant, gaseous planets of our Sun's bewitching family--Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. One example of such bewitching weirdness is the frozen, little icy moon Hyperion, of the ringed-planet Saturn, that looks like an icy natural sponge.

Our Earth basks comfortably in the sunny, warmer, inner regions of our Solar System, and our Moon is the largest one of its kind, in this region, relatively close to our Star. Of the four rocky, terrestrial planets--of which our Earth is a member--Mercury and Venus are moonless, and Mars sports two small, misshapen little rocky moons, Phobos and Deimos, that are likely captured refugees from the main asteroid belt that circles our Sun between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

The crew was able to complete the mission, which would have put a big smile on the face of former President John F. Kennedy. President Kennedy had set a goal to put a man on the moon prior to the end of the decade (1960's) and this goal had now not only been fulfilled, but broadcast worldwide for any who wished to see the triumphant event. Clearly, this amazing feat proves that anything is possible.
